Aura Twarowska (* 1967 in Lugoj , Romania as Aurora Eleonora Avram ) is a Romanian mezzo-soprano . From 1997 to 2010 she worked as a soloist at the Timișoara National Opera and from 2007 to 2017 in the ensemble of the Vienna State Opera .

Life

Aura Twarowska began her musical career at the age of six with piano , mandolin and singing lessons in her hometown of Lugoj. After completing her training at the Coriolan Brediceanu Lyceum in Lugoj, she passed the entrance examination for economics at the University of Timișoara as one of the best . While studying economics, she became a member of the Banatul Timisoara Philharmonic Choir , under the direction of Maestro Diodor Nicoara. This was followed by vocal studies at the newly founded music faculty of the University of Timișoara. She then completed a master's degree in opera with Georgeta Stoleriu at the Bucharest University of Music. After a break of several years, she finished her studies at the Faculty of Economics "Ion Slavici" in Timișoara, with a focus on accounting and business information, and received a diploma after defending her thesis on the subject of "Analysis of cultural marketing and marketing policy at the Timișoara National Opera" for economics. Since April 29, 2010 she has been a doctor of music. She achieved this title with the highest grade. The doctorate took place at the National Music University of Bucharest, based on the defense of a thesis that combined her two qualifications, on the subject of “A vision of the musical theater structures from the perspective of management” (scientific coordinator - Grigore Constantinescu). Since October 2010 she has been a university lecturer at the Music University in Timisoara. Aura Twarowska made her debut at the Timișoara Opera in the title role of the opera Carmen by Georges Bizet in 1999. Her artistic career was enriched by numerous operatic and vocal-symphonic roles, which made her voice known on the opera and concert stages in Romania. International tours and guest performances have contributed to her engagement as a soloist at the Vienna State Opera in 2007. As a member of this ensemble, she made her debut in Shanghai in autumn 2007, on the Asian tour of the Vienna State Opera, under the direction of Seiji Ozawa, as Marcellina, in the opera Le nozze di Figaro by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart .
