Babiná (German women's chair , Hungarian Bábaszék ) is a municipality in central Slovakia . It is located about eighteen kilometers south of Zvolen in Banskobystrický kraj .
history
The place was first mentioned in a document in 1254. German settlers first settled in 1270. In the 16th century, tribute had to be paid to the Ottoman Empire . In the 17th century the village belonged to the Esterházy family .
