Beautiful World is the fourth album by the English band Take That . It was released in November 2006 and is Take That's first album since they split in 1996. Robbie Williams alone was not involved in the production. The album was preceded by the single Patience , released two weeks earlier , which is also included as the second track on the album. Beautiful World is Take That's first album in which each band member appears as the lead singer on at least one song.

Beautiful World spent eight weeks at the top of the charts and is one of the 30 most successful albums in British music history, with 2.88 million copies sold in the UK alone (as of the Official Charts Company , October 2018). The list is led by Sgt.Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band ( The Beatles ) with 5.34 million sales since 1967.

Note: Wooden Boat ends after 3:15 minutes; a minute later a hidden track begins , the title of which was suspected due to its chorus "Butterfly". This assumption was confirmed by the tour souvenir version of the album, on which Butterfly is no longer listed as a hidden track, but as a separate title.

Tour version

On November 9, 2007, the "Tour Souvenir Edition" of Beautiful World was released , which included four new titles, including Rule the World , the theme song of the film Der Sternwanderer and one of the band's most successful songs since then. This edition also contained a DVD with several music videos and an interview.

Two weeks before the release, iTunes received permission to offer the album for sale in its iTunes Store . After the first day, the album was the most downloaded one. Similar successes came later with other music download websites.

The album debuted in the UK on 3 December 2006 at first No. 1 on the UK album charts and remained there a total of 79 weeks in the charts, eight weeks at No. 1 in Germany also reached the album went straight to number 2 and remained in the album charts for 23 weeks, five of them in the top 10. In total, Beautiful World was represented in the charts in 13 countries.

In the UK alone, Beautiful World has sold more than 2.5 million copies, making it Take That's most successful album to date. It thus achieved eight platinum status.

At the 2007 Echo Awards , Take That made a guest appearance with their single Shine , released in February 2007 .

In total, Beautiful World sold around 2.9 million times in the UK alone (as of 2018). The reviews were mostly positive. There was talk of "pop songs with quality", the album was certified as "beautiful ballads with a lot of orchestral and string emotionality" and individual songs were described as "effective" due to unexpected twists. Take That was also certified as a “sovereign performance of nice pop songs”. The album is among the 30 most successful in British music history.
