Benjamin James "Ben" Gibson (born January 15, 1993 in Nunthorpe , Middlesbrough ) is an English football player who plays for Burnley FC in the Premier League .
Career
society
Ben Gibson moved to the youth academy of his home club Middlesbrough FC in 2005 . In 2010 he signed his first professional contract with the Football League Championship club. He made his debut for the professional team Boros on April 25, 2011 in the game against Coventry City , when he came in the 41st minute of the game for the injured Andrew Davies . This mission was Gibson's only one in the 2010/11 season . After lending at Plymouth Argyle , York City and Tranmere Rovers in England's lower leagues, he returned to the 2013/14 season back to Middlesbrough. This season, Gibson gradually found himself in the starting line-up of coach Aitor Karanka and has already made 31 appearances in the championship. In the 2015/16 season , the now undisputed regular player rose to the Premier League with Middlesbrough . In the following season he had to accept relegation to the championship with Boro .
On August 5, 2018, Ben Gibson signed a four-year contract with the Premier League club Burnley FC . The Clarets transferred a club-internal record transfer fee of 16.9 million euros to Middlesbrough for the services of Gibson.
National team
Gibson first played for the U-20 national team in 2014 . In September 2014 he made his debut in the U-21 national team . On March 24, 2017, Gareth Southgate nominated him for the first time in the A-selection squad for the qualifier for the 2018 World Cup against Lithuania . In this game, however, he was not used.
