The Benz 50 PS was added to the Benz 35/40 PS as the next larger model in 1906. Only in 1907 was there an even more powerful Benz 50 PS Sport model . From 1909 the car was offered as a Benz 28/50 hp .

The car was equipped with a four cylinder in-line engine with 7430 cc capacity, the 50 HP (37 kW) at 1400 min -1 developed. The engine power was passed on to a four-speed gearbox via a leather cone clutch and from there to the rear wheels via chains or a cardan shaft, depending on the customer's request. The top speed was 90 km / h. The Sport model had an engine with 8016 cc capacity, which is also 50 hp (37 kW) gave, but only at 1500 min -1 . This car reached a top speed of 115 km / h.

The leaf-sprung chassis with wooden spoke wheels and pneumatic tires cost 25,000.
