Sandrain / Schönau is a common quarter of district III ( Mattenhof-Weissenbühl ) in the south of Bern Bern . Together with the Marzili it forms the statistical district of Sandrain . In the east it borders the Aare , the Kirchenfeld district can be reached via Schönausteg . Apart from Marzili, it borders on Sulgenbach and in the south forms the municipal boundary with Wabern near Bern .

Sandrain-Schönau has 2741 inhabitants, 2206 of them Swiss and 536 foreigners.

The northern part of the quarter is accessed by the Bernmobil line 30. The main traffic axes are the Marzilistrasse and the Sandrainstrasse .
