With the Brandenburg Innovation Prize, the state of Brandenburg honors innovations of all kinds that have good to very good prospects of market success. Exemplary, non-technical innovations such as organizational and marketing concepts and business models in the clusters of the food industry, plastics and chemistry, and metal are also honored. It is closely linked to the innovation strategy of the State of Brandenburg ( innoBB 2025 ). The prerequisites for participation in the competition are that the solutions submitted have a direct reference to the state of Brandenburg and already exist as a prototype, that marketing has already started or that they have been established on the market for the first time. The innovation must not be older than 36 months. The prize has been awarded by the Brandenburg Ministry of Economics, Labor and Energy since 2014. The Brandenburg Innovation Prize is endowed with up to 10,000 euros per cluster. It can be awarded to a maximum of three award winners per cluster. In this case the price will be split equally.
