Britta-Heide Garben (born April 2, 1971 in Stadthagen ) is a German agricultural economist and politician of the Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen party . Together with Susan Sziborra-Seidlitz she is chairman of the regional association of her party in Saxony-Anhalt .

Live and act

Garben studied economics and then built up a family farm together with her partner . She completed her studies in Bernburg and obtained a master’s degree in agricultural management. Since 2013 she has been working in the field of renewable energies as an energy manager . In 2013 she joined the Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen party.

In 2019, Garben called for climate protection to be included as a new state goal in the state constitution of Saxony-Anhalt, thereby supporting a demand made by the parliamentary group of her party.

In July 2019 Garben caused a stir with a plagiarism affair. She had written several blog posts in which she had copied passages without identifying the authors. As a result, she announced her resignation as state chairman.

Garben lives in Siegersleben in the Magdeburg Börde .
