architecture
This bourgeois dwelling house is to be regarded as the right, final part of a closed and extraordinarily well-preserved group (No. 176–196) of historic townhouses. This group is the centerpiece of the avenue that was laid out before the turn of the century as a boulevard and as a further connecting axis between Rheydt and Mönchengladbach.
The two-and-a-half-storey, eaves-facing residential building with a loft mansard and subtle stucco ornamentation on a combed plaster facade has a special feature. The striking characteristic feature of this building is a continuous offset jump in the facade that divides the house into two axes . The height of the eaves is also different and corresponds to the respective neighboring buildings.
