Bryan Kolodziejczyk (born April 16, 1991 in Liège ) is a Belgian - Canadian ice hockey player who has been playing for Brest Albatros Hockey in the French division 1 , the country's second highest division , since 2016 . In the summer of 2018 he played with the Sydney Ice Dogs in the Australian Ice Hockey League . His younger brother Andy is also a Belgian international.

Career

Bryan Kolodziejczyk, born in Belgium to Canadian parents, began his ice hockey career with the Buffalos de Liège in his hometown of Liège , for whom he made his debut in the Belgian second division in 2005 as a 14-year-old. In 2006 he moved to the Ruijters Eaters Geleen , for whose second team he played for two years in the first division , the second highest division in the Netherlands. In 2008 he returned to his hometown and played there for the Bulldogs de Liège in the Belgian honor division , in which he also played for the IHC Leuven , with which he won the Belgian championship title in 2010 , and again for the Liège Bulldogs on the ice for the following two years was standing. In 2011 he went across the pond to his parents' homeland and played for the Lindsay Muskies in the Ontario Junior Hockey League for a year . He then returned to Geleen, where he played for the Eaters for two years in the Dutch honor division . In 2014 he moved to league competitor HYC Herentals , which at that time was the only Belgian club to compete in the Dutch top division. In the 2015/16 season he played in the newly founded Belgian-Dutch BeNe League , which he won with his club straight away, which also included the Belgian championship title. He also won the Belgian ice hockey cup competition with HYC . After these successes, he moved to the second-rate French Division 1 , where he has been playing for Brest Albatros Hockey since 2016 . In 2018 he was the best goal setter in Division 1. In the summer of 2018, he played for the Sydney Ice Dogs in the Australian Ice Hockey League .

International

For Belgium Kolodziejczyk took part in the junior division in Division II at the U-18 World Championships in 2007 , 2008 and 2009 and the U-20 World Championships in 2008 , 2009 , 2010 and 2011 .

Kolodziejczyk played for the men's national team at the World Championships of Division II in 2009 , 2010 , 2011 , 2012 , 2013 , 2014 , 2015 , when he was voted the best player of his team and best goal setter and together with his compatriot Mitch Morgan and the Serbian Marko Sretović was also the tournament's top scorer in 2016 , 2017 and 2018 . In 2012, he was promoted from the B to the A group of Division II.
