The constituency of Pirmasens ( constituency 210 , in the 2009 and 2013 federal elections, constituency 211) is a federal constituency in Rhineland-Palatinate . It includes the independent cities of Pirmasens and Zweibrücken , the district of Südwestpfalz and the south of the district of Kaiserslautern with the municipalities of Bruchmühlbach-Miesau , Kaiserslautern-Süd , Landstuhl and Ramstein-Miesenbach .

The constituency has the current delimitation since the constituency reform of 2002 , in which it was enlarged to include the southern part of the Kaiserslautern district. Before that, since 1965, it only comprised Pirmasens and Zweibrücken as well as today's district of Südwestpfalz. From 1949 to 1965 the constituency was called Zweibrücken and also included the former Bergzabern district .

The constituency has been won in all federal elections so far except in 1998 by the respective direct candidate of the CDU .

The 2017 federal election will take place on Sunday, September 24, 2017. Around 209,000 people are entitled to vote. There will be 10 parties. Like Anita Schäfer from the CDU before, the constituency won through the respective party lists , Angelika Glöckner from the SPD and Brigitte Freihold from Die Linke move into the Bundestag .

Bundestag election 2013

The 2013 federal election took place on Sunday, September 22, 2013. 180,543 people were eligible to vote, of which 128,747 (71.3%) voted. The previous owner Anita Schäfer from the CDU was able to defend the direct mandate with 41.9% .

14 parties competed against each other nationwide in Rhineland-Palatinate. This was decided by the state election committee in a public meeting on July 26, 2013 in Mainz. This granted approval to all parties who had submitted their state lists and other documents by July 15.

The order of the approved state lists on the ballot is initially based on the number of second votes that the respective party received in the last federal election in the state (list positions 1 - 10): CDU, SPD, FDP, GRÜNE, Die Linke, PIRATEN, NPD , REP, ÖDP and MLPD. Newly candidate lists follow in alphabetical order of their names (list positions 11-14): Alternative für Deutschland (AfD), Bürgerbewegung pro Deutschland (pro Germany), Free Voters and the Party of Reason.

The former district of Zweibrücken was incorporated into the district of Pirmasens in 1972. The district of Pirmasens was renamed in 1997 to the district of Südwestpfalz.
