The Castle Alt-Bartenstein is an Outbound Spur castle on the mountain ridge at 452 m above sea level. NN between its eastern tributaries Kalkofenbach and Riedbach to Eselsbach , which flows past a little over 30 m below the facility . It is located just under a kilometer southwest of the center of the Riedbach district of the city of Schrozberg in the Schwäbisch Hall district in Baden-Württemberg .
The castle was built in the 12th to 13th centuries and fell into disrepair in the 14th to 15th centuries. The small castle complex was surrounded on three sides by ramparts and ditches , remains of which can still be seen.
