The Hohenstein castle ruin is an abandoned spur castle in the Hohenstadt district of the city of Schwäbisch Hall in the Schwäbisch Hall district in Baden-Württemberg .
history
The castle was built by the Lords of Hohenstein and was first mentioned in 1334. A Kraft von Hohenlohe is named as the later owner . In the middle of the 14th century the castle was destroyed.

From the hilltop castle at 372.8 m above sea level. NN high spur west over a loop of the Bühler valley between the hamlet of Hohenstadt on the Haller level and the Mühlenweiler Neunbronn in the valley is a deep ditch and a few meters high castle hill, which drops over a field wall perpendicular to the downward loop of the valley.
