St. Hubertus
See main article St. Hubertus
The neo-Gothic St. Hubertus basilica on the rock massif is a prominent point in the townscape. After the 54 meter high church tower had to be demolished in 1996 due to its dilapidation, which was probably due to the use of zinc ash as a mortar additive, a functional bell tower was built on the church grounds in 2003.
The church treasures include sacred objects, stained glass and sculptures. The oldest pieces come from the chapel built in 1680. The previous building, which made way for a larger church in 1846, was located below the rock at the confluence with Hostetstrasse. The remains of the former chapel include the baroque wood carving of the parish and church patron St. Hubertus in the episcopal regalia.
Liturgical objects of the St. Hubertus Church are reliquaries , chalices, monstrances and crosses from different stylistic epochs. The goldsmith's work of the 18th century includes two reliquaries. They contain - surrounded by a baroque halo - bone fragments of the local saint. The " Nazarenes " windows that were created at the beginning of the 20th century are committed to historicism .
St. Hubertus received new windows in 1962. The design comes from Professor Heinrich m. Dieckmann from Mönchengladbach , the Cologne glass painting workshop Dr. Reuter responsible. The three bells hung in the previous tower. Hubertus, Marien, and Michael bells, which were made in 1922. The pinnacles adorned the tower since 1983.
Chapel in the Marienheim
The chapel and residential building of the "Marienheim" on Bischofstrasse were inaugurated in February 1966. The chapel's eye-catchers are the blue-tones of the ornamental windows and the sacred objects. The surfaces of the tabernacle, eternal light and cross with semi-precious stones were created by the Stolberg goldsmith and engraving master Ludwig Mohnen (1910–1976).
Cityscape
Since June 12, 1994, the Büsbacher Markt has been adorned with a statue of the Bareschesser, the first sculpture in Stolberg made entirely of copper.
An oak tree at the Bischofstrasse memorial is protected as a natural monument.
