Camp Rock is the official soundtrack for the TV movie Camp Rock . It was released on June 17, 2008 via Walt Disney Records .

History of origin

The main actors of the film

A total of twelve songs from the film were used for the soundtrack. In addition to the main actors, the YouTube stars Jonas Brothers , with Joe Jonas in particular , Meaghan Jette Martin and Demi Lovato , the supporting actors Jordan Francis , Aaryn Doyle and Benard Fegan can also be heard. Renee Sandstrom can also be heard on the soundtrack, she takes on a part that was "sung" in the film by actress Jasmine Richards . The producers are Greg Wells, Kara DioGuardi , Mitch Allan, Adam Watts, Andy Dodd, Matthew Gerrard, Robbie Nevil , Kovasciar Myvette, Pam Sheyne, Toby Gad , Antonina Armato, Tim James, Adam Anders and Nikki Hassman.

The soundtrack was released on June 17, 2008. In Germany it was published on September 5th of the same year. The songs can all be heard in the film, and some also made it into the charts. Some tracks were played live during the Jonas Brothers 'Burnin' Up Tour . All songs can also be heard on Radio Disney .

Music genre

The inspiration for the musical style of the soundtrack was the soundtrack for High School Musical and the two sequels High School Musical 2 (2007) and High School Musical 3: Senior Year (2008) , also published by the Walt Disney Company . This is not surprising, as a large number of the producers worked on both projects. The musical style is aimed at children and teenagers and is very trendy . All hooks and choruses are suitable for singing along. In addition, the individual songs contain messages tailored to teenagers. The pieces fit the storyline of the film and address friendship and love, partying and dancing. A recurring style element are auto-tune effects , which are not only intended to hide the actors' vocal weaknesses, but are also used as normal effects. The hip-hop song Hasta La Vista by Jordan Francis and Roshon Bernard Fegan is a bit out of the ordinary.
