The Canon EOS 6D Mark II is a digital SLR camera from the Japanese manufacturer Canon . The market launch in Europe was in July 2017; the RRP was around € 2100. The camera has a full-format sensor , a rotatable and swiveling 3 " touchscreen , as well as an option for series pictures and time-lapse recordings.

technical features

The camera allows a series frame rate of 6.5 frames per second and records videos in a resolution of 1920 × 1080 pixels with up to 60 (59.94) frames per second. In special scene modes it is possible to record HDR videos in 1080p30 ; the maximum resolution of 2160p30 ( 4K ) is available for the time-lapse mode .

In addition to signals from American GPS, the GPS receiver integrated in the camera can also evaluate signals from Russian GLONASS and Japanese QZSS . The camera is based on a proprietary DIGIC -7 chip.

The camera is powered by the batteries of the Canon professional series LP-E6 .

reception

The camera was rated differently when it was presented: On the one hand, it was perceived as a successful update of the previous model EOS 6D (market launch 2013). Others saw the DSLR camera as obsolete when it was first introduced, as a number of full-frame mirrorless cameras with more extensive autofocus functions and better image quality were already available in their price segment at that time.

When it was launched on the market, it was criticized that the camera does not offer continuous 4K video resolution, as has been the case with comparable models from the competition for a long time. There is also no mechanical image stabilization inside the camera.
