The Canon EOS 6D is a digital SLR camera from the Japanese manufacturer Canon with a full-frame sensor that was launched in January 2013.
At the end of June 2017, the successor model Canon EOS 6D Mark II was presented.
camera
A DIGIC5 + processor is built into the EOS 6D . It enables a serial frame rate of 4.5 frames per second as well as videos in a resolution of 1920 × 1080 pixels with up to 30 frames per second. The 6D was the manufacturer's first camera with an integrated WLAN and GPS receiver.
Firmware
The firmware has been updated several times; the last update took place on November 13, 2019 with firmware version 1.1.9.
GPS receiver and integrated WLAN
The integrated GPS receiver provides location information for photos and can also be used as a GPS tracker because it is active even when the camera is switched off. Communication with a PC , Mac , smartphone , tablet or printer can take place via the WLAN function . This enables viewing, direct saving, sending and printing of photos taken. The camera can be controlled remotely with the “EOS Remote” smartphone app: the smartphone becomes a control and control screen or a remote release; Photos in the camera's memory can be viewed and managed with the app without having to manually access the camera .
variants
There are two versions of the device: the Canon EOS 6D (WG) and the Canon EOS 6D (N) . They can be identified by the type plate on the underside of the camera. The EOS 6D (N) has neither WLAN nor GPS receivers and is offered in countries in which there is no general operating license for the use of these radio interfaces. Because of this, in Germany you mainly get the variant (WG) .
