The Canon EOS 20D is a digital SLR camera from the Japanese manufacturer Canon , which was launched on the market in September 2004. It is no longer produced.
technical features
The CMOS sensor in APS-C format delivers images at the highest resolution with a resolution of 3504 × 2336 pixels (effective 8.2 million pixels). The camera can take up to 23 images in a row at five images per second. The autofocus has nine measuring fields with a display of the active measuring points in the viewfinder. The images are saved on a CF card and can be transferred to a USB host via a USB 2.0 port . A DIGIC II processor works in the camera .
In flash mode, the camera can only handle E-TTL or E-TTL2 mode, so older system flashes such as the Canon Speedlite 540EZ only work in manual mode or, like the Canon ML-3 ring flash, do not ignite at all. The manufacturer therefore recommends the use of E-TTL-compatible devices from the EX series, such as B. the Canon Speedlite 580EX .
The Canon EF-S - lens mount , allows the connection of Canon lenses EF-S series, by the smaller image circle are specially designed for digital cameras with APS-C sensors and fit entirely on that bayonet. It is also possible to use Canon EF lenses or optics from other manufacturers. Adapters also make other 35mm lenses usable, e.g. B. those with M42 screw thread . The camera housing itself is made of magnesium .
Model variant EOS 20Da
The EOS 20Da model is a special version of the camera designed for astrophotography . It has a modified low-pass filter that less attenuates the wavelength range around the alpha line of hydrogen ( H α, Fraunhofer line ) , which is important for astronomical observations . In addition, a focusing aid was built in, which facilitates manual focusing with the help of an enlarged representation on the display, which greatly simplifies operation on telescopes.
