The Canon EOS-1D X is a digital SLR camera from the Japanese manufacturer Canon , which was launched on the market in April 2012. The manufacturer addresses them to professional photographers .
technical features
The camera has a 18,1- megapixels - full frame CMOS image sensor with 5184 × 3456 pixels. It also has the following features:
- weatherproof housing made of magnesium alloy
- Compatible with all EF lenses (except EF-S and EF-M )
- up to 14 frames / s (only JPEG and without auto focus tracking); up to 12 fps (raw only, JPEG only or both); from ISO 32,000 or higher: 10 frames / s
- Video recording in the HD resolutions 1080p (1920 × 1080 pixels at 24, 25 or 29.97 fps) or 720p (1280 × 720 pixels at 50 or 60 fps) as well as in standard resolution (640 × 480 pixels at 25 or 30 frames / s).
- Slots for 2 × CompactFlash Type I / II (UDMA 7)
- Network connection via RJ-45 connection (1 Gbit / s)
- integrated cleaning system
- 3.2 " LCD in 3: 2 format with a resolution of 720 × 480 pixels.
- 14-bit A / D converter
- two DIGIC -5 + processors for sensor readout and compression
- an additional DIGIC-4 processor for autofocus and exposure metering
- 61 autofocus points (like Canon EOS 5D Mark III and Canon EOS-1D C ), supported by 100,000-pixel RGB AE sensor.
- ISO from 100 to 102,400, expandable to 50 to 204,800
The characteristics of the camera for photography are largely the same as those of the Canon EOS-1D C model , although it is more geared towards filming.
equipment
The camera can be expanded to include a wireless network connection via the WFT-E6 Wi-Fi transmitter . This allows, for example, images to be saved directly to a computer after they have been taken. The transmitter can also be used to connect the GPS receiver “GP-E1” or “GP-E2” to store the exact location of a photo in the image file itself ( geotagging ).

Individual evidence
- ↑ Canon (among other manufacturers) counts the subpixels of each pixel, i.e. H. the red, green and blue channel of each pixel individually, and therefore specifies the rear display with 345,600 [pixels] × 3 [colors] = 1,036,800 or approx. 1,040,000 pixels.
