Carmen Moore

Carmen Moore (born December 24, 1972 in Burnaby , British Columbia ) is a Canadian actress .

Life

Moore was born to a Wet'suwet'en father and a Scottish - Irish mother. Moore grew up in various cities in Lower Mainland and attended Port Moody Senior Secondary School in British Columbia . When she was in 5th grade, she moved to Coquitlam with her parents .

After graduating from high school, she took acting classes at the Spirit Song Native Theater Company . She stayed there for nine months and began to take on her first roles in local theaters.

Moore lives in North Vancouver with her son.

Theater career

Moore took part in several plays. She had her first role in 1992 in Coming Around as Frankie at the New Brunswick Theater in Fredericton , New Brunswick . Micheline Chevrier and Rocky Paul Wisernan directed the play . At the Fend Players Society in Vancouver, she worked in Danceland . There she played rose . For this she received a 1993 nomination for Best Supporting Actress at the Jessie Richardson Awards . She played Kelly in Out of the Silence at the Headlines Theater in Vancouver . In New Voices woman she starred in the title role. The next role was in Generic Warrior and No Name Indians with director Paul Thompson .

She played the role of Janice Grace in Only Drunks and Children tell the Truth, directed by Donna Spencer and John J. Hong . She subsequently appeared in the same role in Someday . Both pieces were performed at the Firehall Arts Center in Vancouver. For Someday , Moore was nominated for Best Actress at the 1996 Jessie Richardson Awards.

In 2008, after an almost ten-year break from the theater, she returned to the Talking Stick Festival in Vancouver as a stage actress in the production Ab-Original Cabaret , a compilation of dance, song and comedy.

Movie and TV

She made her film debut in 1995 in Far from Home: The Adventures of Yellow Dog , but her scenes were cut out. Her next project was on the side of Joey Lawrence in the TV movie Brothers of the Frontier . In 2000 she played the role of Ben Kingsley's wife in the family film Spooky House .

In 2006, she played the lead role in the Canadian independent film Unnatural & Accidental alongside Callum Keith Rennie . For her portrayal of Rebecca , she received a nomination for best female lead actress at the First Americans Film Festival in San Francisco and the Vancouver Women in Film and Video Artistic Merit Award .

In 2007 she played a teacher at a school for children with behavioral problems in the tragicomic film My Child from Mars at the side of John Cusack .

Moore first appeared in a television role in 1995. She starred in an episode of The Police Chief . In North of 60 , she played the role of Janine Carr . She also appeared in Stargate - Kommando SG-1 and Police Academy: The Series in 1997 . In 1998 she played a detective in Da Vinci's Inquest and Lucia in Das Netz - Todesfalle Internet . She starred in an episode of First Wave - The Prophecy in 1999 . She starred as Officer Merrill in two episodes of Seven Days . In 2001 she played Marianna Torres , Ving Rhames ' attorney , in UC: Undercover . She starred as Rita George in three episodes of Nothing Too Good for a Cowboy . From 2001 to 2002 she worked in Wolf Lake . At first, their role was relatively small, but over time it expanded. She was seen there alongside Lou Diamond Phillips , Graham Greene and Tim Matheson . In 2002 she starred in several episodes of the Tom Stone series .

In Andromeda with Kevin Sorbo , she was seen in several episodes as Tri-Jema . From 2005 to 2006 she worked in Godiva's . For her role as the mysterious and erotic bartender Simone , she was nominated in 2006 at the Leo Awards, the British Columbia's Film and Television Awards.

In 2006 she played Sister Tivenan in the web series Battlestar Galactica: The Resistance . From 2007 to 2008 she played the role of Joely Lavant in the television series Flash Gordon . In 2010 she starred in an episode of Supernatural . Since 2012 she can be seen in the Canadian television series Arctic Air .
