Cody Lampl (born June 19, 1986 ) is an American - German professional ice hockey player. He has been under contract with the Adler Mannheim since April 2018 and is deployed in the position of defender.

biography

Lampl's grandparents come from Germany, they emigrated to North America.

Lampl was born in the US state of  Pennsylvania and grew up in Ketchum (state of  Idaho ).

He studied history and social science at Colorado College .

Athletic career

Lampl is 1.78 meters tall. He played for USHL clubs Sioux Falls Stampede, Danville Wings and Chicago Steel between 2003 and 2005, before enrolling at Colorado College and playing in the NCAA University League between 2005 and 2009.

From 2009 to 2015 he played for four clubs (Las Vegas Wranglers, Idaho Steelheads , Utah Grizzlies and Toledo Walleye) a total of 274 appearances in the East Coast Hockey League and 40 games in the American Hockey League (with Abbotsford Heat, the Grand Rapids Griffins and the St. John's IceCaps). In 2010 Lampl moved into the final of the ECHL with the Idaho Steelheads, but lost to the Cincinnati Cyclones there . With the IceCaps he reached the AHL final series for the Calder Cup in 2014 , but was not used there.

Lampl moved to Europe for the first time in the 2015/16 season. He was signed by the German second division club Fischtown Pinguins . In the 2016/17 season, the team from Bremerhaven was awarded a license for the top German division DEL, Lampl was also part of the squad after promotion. He stayed in Bremerhaven until the end of the 2017/18 season.

In mid-April 2018, his move to the Adler Mannheim was announced.
