history

In 1346 Dömitzow was first documented as "Demzow" when the Slavestorp brothers donated an uplift to the Heilig-Geist-Hospital in Greifswald. In 1376 they sold all of their shares in Dömitzow, Stahlbrode, Reinberg and Oberhinrichshagen to the city of Greifswald and the local Hospital of the Holy Spirit. In 1384, Duke Wartislaw VI. its rightful Bede from Dömitzow also at Greifswald and its hospital, and also confirmed the possession of the city and the hospital to the village. As with the other places in the municipality of Sundhagen confirmed Duke Wartislaw IX. 1418 the possessions of the city of Greifswald and the hospital there for the Holy Spirit in Dömitzow.

In 1632 the place had 4 full and 2 half farmers , but this was converted into 6 full farmer positions until the visit in 1670. In 1718 there were only 4, but in 1765 again 5 farm positions. The new position was dropped again in 1774.

In 1727 the rent per farm was 20 thalers for the city and 5 thalers for the hospital. By 1801 the lease was increased to 70 Thaler, 2/3 went to the city and 1/3 to the hospital.

In 1834 the field mark was separated with a survey of the area. 3 courtyards were located in a star shape directly on the outskirts, the 4th courtyard was set up 500 meters to the west. All of them had their fields and usable areas, lying together, allocated directly to their farms. In 1852 the 5th courtyard was laid out 2 kilometers northwest of the town center.

The farms occupied until 1852 had the following owners:

  • Hof I Luchterhand, Joachim - 425 acres
  • Hof II Luchterhand, Jakob - 411 acres
  • Hof III Martens, Christian - 507 acres
  • Hof IV Möller, Heinrich - 536 acres

In 1866 there were 5 houses, 20 farm buildings and 5 cottages with attached stables in the village. According to the measurement table sheet, this structure was retained until after 1920; it was only after 1945 that it changed with the expropriation of the estates from the city and hospital to national property. After reunification , the property claims were returned to the Peter Warschow Collective Foundation, to which the Heilig Geist Hospital has belonged since 1956, by transferring the property back to the property . In the meantime, the remote courtyard V and courtyard IV, 500 meters away, have been demolished and desolate.

In 1871 Dömitzow had the following official statistics: 10 residential buildings in which 15 households were present. The place had 106 inhabitants, in 1867 there were still 128. All had the Protestant denomination.

Courtyards II and III were built over with the LPG buildings and the area is still in use. Farm I is still present in remnants. The cottages in the village center are available in a modernized form.

Dömitzow belonged to the community of Reinberg . This merged on June 7th, 2009 with the communities Behnkendorf , Brandshagen , Horst , Kirchdorf , Miltzow and Wilmshagen to form the new community Sundhagen.
