history

Hankenhagen does not appear in the document books until the end of the 14th century. The location cannot be found in the Lubin map from 1618 or the Swedish matriculation cards .

1835 was shown in the Prussian Urmes table sheet (PUM) as an elongated, arched farming village. The place was about a kilometer long. The courtyards were evenly distributed along the village street. The farm workers' cottages were also scattered in between. Otherwise there were no peculiarities.

In 1871 Hankenhagen had the following official statistics: 8 residential buildings in which 9 households were present. The place had 68 inhabitants, in 1867 there were the same number. All had the Protestant denomination.

In 1880, Hankenhagen had 3 large farms and a small courtyard as well as a post mill, according to the measurement table sheet (MTB). The farm workers' cottages are integrated in the farms. According to MTB 1920, this structure was retained, only the mill had disappeared.

This was also retained during the GDR era, only a few farm buildings have been cleared. The place became pure living space.

Hankenhagen belonged to the municipality of Miltzow . This merged on June 7, 2009 with the communities Behnkendorf , Brandshagen , Horst , Kirchdorf , Reinberg and Wilmshagen to form the new community Sundhagen.
