Schönhof between 1880 and 1920

Geography and traffic

Schönhof is 16 kilometers northeast of the city of Grimmen , 11 kilometers southeast of Stralsund and 20.5 kilometers northwest of Greifswald . The four-lane highway B 96 runs west of the village and crosses near the village with the Greifswald – Stralsund railway line, which has been built since 1863 . The former federal highway 96, the current federal highway 105, runs to the east .

history

Schönhof was not listed in the Pomeranian documents until the middle of the 14th century. The Swedish matriculation cards from 1696 do not know the place either.

The place name only appears in the Prussian Urmes Tischblatt (PUM) from 1835. The manor, which gave the place its name, was already well developed at the time, including a manor house, farm workers' cottage and park. The Schönhofer Ziegelei is built south of the village.

In 1871 Schönhof had 7 houses with 13 households and 77 inhabitants, in 1867 there were still 87. All were members of the Protestant denomination.

The measuring table sheet (MTB) from 1880 shows a large, compact estate with an eastern park and a row of crags to the west of the estate, which was relocated from the estate there.

After the MTB of 1920, it can only be seen that the estate has been expanded and modernized, otherwise there were no further changes.

After the Second World War and the land reform in the Soviet occupation zone , the structure of the village was changed. The manor house and park will be preserved, almost all farm buildings have been cleared. Little new farms were built. Later agricultural buildings (LPG) were probably relocated to neighboring larger villages.

Schönhof belonged to the municipality of Brandshagen . This merged on June 7, 2009 with the communities Behnkendorf , Horst , Kirchdorf , Miltzow , Reinberg and Wilmshagen to form the new community Sundhagen.
