Career
Dave Spina was born in Springfield , Illinois . At the age of two, he moved with his parents to Seattle , where he stood on the ice for the first time and then began playing ice hockey. When she was eight, Spina moved the family to Mesa , Arizona . When choosing the place of residence, care was taken to ensure that there was an ice rink for training in the immediate vicinity. After playing for local teams, he joined Texas Tornado in the North American Hockey League in 1999 at the age of 16 . Spina scored 41 points scorer in 54 games and was named Rookie of the Year for his team after the season . There he played under coach Mike Eaves and befriended his sons Ben Eaves and Patrick Eaves . After graduating from Huron High School in Ann Arbor , Spina began studying economics at Boston College and played for the local hockey team Boston College Eagles in the university league Hockey East . His decision to move to Boston enabled Spina to play with his friends Ben and Patrick Eaves for the next several years. With his team he was able to qualify three times for the championship tournament of the National Collegiate Athletic Association from 2003 to 2005 . In 2004 they reached the final series called Frozen Four , in which they lost in the semifinals. In his senior season at college, Spina won the Hockey East championship with the Eagles.

In September 2007 he signed an annual contract with the Phoenix Coyotes from the National Hockey League . They then sent him to the San Antonio Rampage farm team in the AHL. There he scored 50 points scorer in 76 games and was one of the best players on his team, so his contract was extended by the Coyotes. In the training camp of the NHL team Spina could not prevail and was again sent to the AHL for the 2008/09 season . This also happened in the 2009/10 season . In August 2010 he signed a contract with the NHL team St. Louis Blues and played for the Peoria Rivermen in the AHL. For the 2011/12 season Spina moved to Europe in the German Ice Hockey League to the Iserlohn Roosters . With the Roosters he was able to qualify for the pre-playoffs, in which one was eliminated. He then signed with the Swedish club MODO Hockey from the Svenska Hockeyligan . After good performance, his contract was extended to 2014, but left the club in February 2014 and moved to Saimaan Pallo in the Finnish Liiga .
