Dave Sardy
David "Dave" Sardy (* 1967 in Brooklyn , New York ) is an American music producer who mainly works with rock groups . He was also the singer and guitarist of the band Barkmarket .
Career
Musician
Sardy initially played in some unknown hardcore bands . Since he didn't earn any money with it, he also worked as a waiter and factory worker. With the post-hardcore group Barkmarket , founded in Brooklyn in 1987 , Sardy released five albums by 1997, four of them on Rick Rubin's label American Recordings . In 1992 Barkmarket supported the Pixies , and in 1993 Sardy played guitar on Frank Black's debut album.
His band Barkmarket achieved a high reputation in critical circles and also achieved some notoriety in Europe. Among other things, the group was on the Belgian Pukkelpop - Festival (1994 and 1996) and the Hultsfred Festival in Sweden present. The album L-Ron , released in 1996, was both the climax and the end of his career, as this activity had become more important for Sardy due to his increasing success as a producer.
During the production of Aftertaste , Sardy also worked briefly as the second guitarist in performances by Helmet (band) , where Barkmarket were the support band. Sometimes his guitar playing can also be heard on albums he has produced, for example on Holy Wood by Marilyn Manson .
producer
Sardy started out as an engineer , mixer and producer with his own band as well as artist friends, such as Cop Shoot Cop . After working alongside Rick Rubin on some works by well-known musicians such as Nine Inch Nails or Red Hot Chili Peppers , he worked on the Slayer album Undisputed Attitude for the first time in 1996 as an independent producer of a better-known band. He then worked for a wide variety of artists, from Supergrass and the Dandy Warhols to Marilyn Manson and Atari Teenage Riot .
His productions are often characterized by the use of old equipment , which he says is due to the fact that everything he loves about music is either old or was recorded on old instruments, for example the Beatles and Black Sabbath or The Verve .

That's 2008 for 21 , 2009 for Zombieland , 2011 for Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance , 2012 for Premium Rush and End of Watch , 2014 for Sabotage and 2016 for Monster Trucks .
