The 2nd destination Eurovision took place on January 26, 2019 and was the French preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 in Tel Aviv ( Israel ).

concept

format

On June 21, 2018 France 2 presented their plans for the French preliminary round 2019. Last year's concept of the newly introduced Destination Eurovision is to be continued with minor changes in 2019. The composition of the jury will be changed minimally, the two semi-finals will be broadcast live and not recorded beforehand. This also revised the voting system. Through the live broadcasts, 50% televoting and 50% jury voting was introduced in all three programs. The moderation took over again Garou .

Juries

French jury

As in the previous year , Christophe Willem is on the jury. Singer André Manoukian and singer Vitaa are newcomers . The latter was involved as a composer of a contribution in 2018.

The French jury has no voting rights, it only comments on the entries.

International jury

A total of 20 countries were involved in the vote, five in the semi-finals and ten in the final. Their votes made up 50% of the result.

Choice of contribution

From June 21 to November 30, 2018, performers and composers had the opportunity to submit contributions. At least 70 percent of the song had to be written in French.

Attendees

On December 6, 2018, France 2 published the 18 participants. As many participants took part as in 2018 .
