German short course championships 2016

The German short course championships 2016 in swimming took place for the first time from November 17th to 20th, 2016 in the swimming and jumping hall in the Europa Sportpark Berlin . The organizer and host was the German Swimming Association . The competition also served as the only qualifying competition for the 2016 World Short Course Championships in Windsor . In addition to six relay competitions, 18 individual titles were awarded for men and women. Marco Koch was the most successful athlete of this championship with five titles (3 in singles and 2 in relay) and set a new world record over 200 meters chest and a new DSV record over 100 meters chest . Nina Kost also secured three individual titles.

The 100 fastest swimmers and relays in Germany (open class) of the current season (23 November 2015 up to and including 6 November 2016) were eligible to participate.
