Division 1 Féminine 2010/11

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The 2010/11 season of Division 1 Féminine was the 37th playing of the French women's football championship since the official recognition of women's football by the FFF, the Football Association of France , in 1970 and the first in the 1974/75 season . The Division 1 Féminine called league was in pure League mode played in a group consisting of a single group, comprising twelve teams, national top division.

Last year's winners were the women of Olympique Lyon , who were able to defend their title and thus their fifth championship - in a row.

The soccer players of the D1F were no longer pure amateurs; rather, the clubs were allowed to reward them financially for practicing their sport, although the maximum possible remuneration was very moderate compared to men's football.

Qualification and mode of competition

For the eligibility to participate, only the performance of the women's teams in the previous season was taken into account; The nine best-placed teams of the previous season as well as two promoted teams, who had each finished their group of Division 2 Féminine as first in the table, were qualified . Thus the following twelve participants started this season:

The championship was played in a double round of points in which each participant competed in home and away games against each other. The " modified three-point rule " , which was also common in French amateur football well into the 21st century, applied with four points for a win, two for a draw and one for a defeat won on the field; In the event of a tie, the direct comparison and, if necessary, then the better total goal difference , if there was still a tie, the higher number of hits, if applicable, were decisive. At the end of the season, due to a change in the relevant regulation, the three bottom of the table had to be relegated this time, who were replaced for the coming season by three promoted players - the winners of the three groups of the second division.

The French champions as well as the runners-up in Division 1 Féminine qualified for the women's European Cup competition the following season .

a Rodez won the direct comparison with two wins and 3-0 goals.
b Three points were deducted from Hénin-Beaumont for lack of a club's own youth center for young women.
c Yzeure won the direct comparison with a win and a draw with 5-2 goals.

Since a single-track top women's division was introduced in France in 1992 , no champion had managed to record only wins from the first to the 22nd matchday, as Olympique Lyon did this year. The masterful goal difference of +100 also set new standards, as did the total of only six goals conceded - Juvisy's Laëtitia Tonazzi was the only attacker who was able to overcome Lyon's goalkeeper twice. One could only speak of Paris, Montpellier and Juvisy as pursuers of Lyons insofar as they fought head-to-head for the runner-up and the second Champions League starting place, which the capital city women finally won. How close this three-way duel was, was also shown by the results of the direct clashes, in which Paris (two wins and one draw) were also placed ahead of Montpellier (two wins) and Juvisy (one win, one draw).

Saint-Étienne was the only team in the middle of the table, while the relegation zone began from sixth place. However, the northern French women from Hénin-Beaumont (despite their point deduction announced during the season) and the newly promoted women from Rodez had set themselves apart from the remaining five womenships early enough that they were no longer in serious danger. On the other hand, after the 16th matchday it looked like the women from Yzeure were safely relegated, who graced the end of the table with seven points behind the first non-relegation place. Then, however, the team from the Allier département put in a splendid final spurt, scored 13 points from the following four encounters and not only overtook La Roche and Le Mans, but also benefited from the fact that Toulouse was still on rank after the 16th matchday seven - suffered a series of six defeats. The Bretons from Saint-Brieuc (ten points in the last three games) were also able to manage the class on their own. For them it was the last season under this name because the women's department joined the neighboring En Avant Guingamp .

For the following season rose from the Division 2 Féminine the FC Vendenheim who ASJ Soyaux and AS Muret on.
