Impact on Investigations

While recording an interview with three drug dealers in Beek, the Netherlands , for the third season of the series, local police broke into the apartment and arrested the men while the camera was rolling. According to the local newspaper De Limburger , the police had monitored one of the dealers and found out about the planned interview. The two filmmakers present were interrogated but released shortly afterwards. According to the police, the firearms found on the table, as well as a large proportion of the suspected drugs, were fakes.

In January 2019, a 21-year-old man from Troy, Michigan was arrested for drug trafficking in Oakland County and the surrounding communities. The Oakland County Sheriff's Office observed the man, who went by the pseudonym "Ozone", in July 2018 after receiving a tip. The tip also mentioned the man's engagement in the third episode of the second season of Dope . After the police issued search warrants in two locations, they found various amounts of various drugs and took the man into custody. He was charged with multiple drug trafficking.
