The 2006 Women's Three Cushion World Championship was a tournament in the three cushion carom discipline and took place from December 20th to 23rd in Hoensbroek , Netherlands .

mode

In the preliminary round, the game was played in four groups of four players each in round robin mode for two sets of up to 12 points. The first two of the group move into the final round, where the knockout system played on three winning sets of up to 12 points. The recordings were limited to 25.

Tournament commentary

As in Valencia two years ago, Orie Hida from Japan won the women's three-cushion world championship. In the final she defeated the 25-year-old local hero Therese Klompenhouwer in three sets with the best average of the tournament of 1.161. The best general average (GD) of the tournament was achieved by Hida's compatriot Ayako Maehara with 0.878. Together with Gülşen Degener from Turkey, she took third place. With Michaela Esser, a German started for the first time in a three-cushion world championship. It was only enough for 15th and penultimate place in the final bill.
