Edgar Wenzel (born September 12, 1919 in Codlea near Kronstadt , Kingdom of Romania , † February 1980 ) was a German actor and dancer .

Life

After the Second World War , Wenzel first appeared as a ballet dancer in Vienna . He worked as a solo dancer. Wenzel had completed training as a dancer at the Vienna Conservatory in the dance department there. In 1951 he was committed to Düsseldorf . In 1953 he danced at the Städtische Bühnen Düsseldorf in a choreography by Yvonne Georgi to the music of the Symphonie fantastique . In 1955 he danced the male title role in the ballet Pulcinella by Igor Stravinsky at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein in Düsseldorf ; his partner was the dancer Ulla Söderbaum , daughter of the actress Kristina Söderbaum . The choreography came from Hans Züllig (1914–1992). Later, Wenceslaus turned to acting. From the end of the 1950s, film appearances by him have been proven.
