The development of rulership rights in the Middle Ages was marked by many changes. In the course of the 15th century Eisingen fell to the margraviate of Baden and, after the division of the country in 1535, belonged to the Pforzheim district in the margraviate of Baden-Durlach . Eisingen has been part of the Grand Duchy of Baden since 1806 . On June 25, 1939, the place became part of the Pforzheim district . In 1945 Eisingen became part of the American zone of occupation and thus belonged to the newly founded state of Württemberg-Baden , which became part of the current state of Baden-Württemberg in 1952. In 1973 the district reform took place in Baden-Württemberg , when Eisingen became part of the newly created Enzkreis.

Buildings

The Margaret Church is of medieval origin, it was first mentioned in 1344. Originally a choir tower church with a fortified churchyard (nothing left of this), it was fundamentally changed in 1880: the nave was renewed. The church has a bell that was cast in Speyer in 1493.

The historic wine press from 1556 has been renovated. With the help of the old presses, the wine of the local winegrowers was pressed here until 1949. In addition to the old wine presses, it also offers a small wine museum. Guided tours are possible by arrangement.

Natural monuments

The old Eisinger Loch

The new and the old Eisinger Loch are two collapse dolines northeast of Eisingen, near Göbrichen ( Neulingen municipality ). The entire area is a karst plateau, in which sinkholes repeatedly form. The old Eisinger Loch was already used by the Romans as a quarry to build the Heerstraße in the immediate vicinity. The sinkhole is accessible with the help of steps carved into the stone. The New Eisinger Loch was built in 1966 and can be viewed from a platform.

Regular events

  • The Eisinger wine press festival takes place every two years in late summer. Around the historical wine press from 1556, the local associations serve the visitors of the street festival .
  • Alternating with the wine press festival, the Eisingen music club's wine festival takes place in the opposite year. As part of the wine festival, the title "Eisinger Weinkönig" is awarded in the competition. This title is unique in Germany.
  • On April 30th, the traditional maypole waving takes place at Brunnenplatz.
  • Every year on May 1st, the volunteer fire brigade organizes the May Festival in the Gengenbachtal.
  • Ascension Day takes place in the Gengenbachtal valley, the traditional Father's Day socket of the music association.
