history

The place was first mentioned in a document in 1317/22 as "villa Emelnorf". The imperial city of Nuremberg and the Lords of Auracher were wealthy in the village .

At the end of the 18th century there were 3 properties in Emelsdorf. The high court exercised the Brandenburg-Bayreuth caste and jurisdiction office Dachsbach . The landlords were the lordship of Wilhermsdorf , 1 property of the parish of Oberhöchstädt and 1 property of the manor Sichardshof .

As part of the municipal edict, Emelsdorf was assigned to the Dachsbach tax district, formed in 1811, and from 1813 it belonged to the tax district and the rural community of Birnbaum . With the second community edict (1818) it was assigned to the newly formed rural community of Kästel . One property was under the voluntary jurisdiction of the Sichardshof patrimonial court until 1848 , another property was under the Wilhermsdorf patrimonial court until 1839 . On July 1, 1971, Kästel was incorporated into Gerhardshofen as part of the regional reform .
