history
The place as well as the neighboring places, which end in -hof (s), probably belong to the Carolingian settlement. They could have been a side extension of the Königsmark Riedfeld, which was left exclusively to the landlords, in this case a councilor. The place was first mentioned in a document, however, on January 29, 1347. At that time the place belonged to the office of Dachsbach of the burgraviate of Nuremberg . In 1360 there were seven peasants paying interest. In 1400 the place was sold to the knight Otto, who later came to the Margraviate of Brandenburg-Kulmbach .
Towards the end of the 18th century there were ten properties in Rappoldshofen (1 mill, 3 farms, 5 estates, 1 house). The high court , the village and community rulership and the lordship over all properties exercised the Brandenburg-Bayreuth caste and jurisdiction office Dachsbach .
As part of the community edict, Rappoldshofen was assigned to the Gutenstetten tax district formed in 1811, and from 1813 it belonged to the rural community of Pahres . With the second community edict (1818) it was re-ceded to the newly formed rural community Reinhardshofen . On January 1, 1972, Rappoldshofen was incorporated into Gerhardshofen as part of the regional reform in Bavaria .
