Helena Karásková (born February 6, 1979 in Jablonec nad Nisou as Helena Balatková , later Helena Erbenová ) is a Czech cross-country skier , triathlete , Olympian (2006), European cross-triathlon champion (2012), world cross-triathlon champion (2013) and two-time world champion Winter triathlon (2012, 2013).

Career

Helena Erbenová has been cross-country skiing since 1997 and she competed at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Italy. Since 2011 she started in cross triathlon.

World champion winter triathlon 2012

She became world champion in winter triathlon in 2012 and in February 2013 she was able to successfully defend this success in Italy.

In 2012 she became the European winter triathlon champion in January and cross triathlon in July. That year she also came second in the European Tour classification of the Xterra series.

World champion cross triathlon 2013

In July 2013 she became world champion cross triathlon in The Hague.
In 2014 she finished third at the World Cup. In July 2015 Erbenová became Vice-European Cross-Triathlon Champion behind the Swiss Renata Bucher .

In January 2017, she became the European winter triathlon champion for the second time in Estonia. In January 2018, the 38-year-old was runner-up in Romania in winter triathlon. In September she won the swim & run race Ö till Ö with the Finnish Martin Flinta in the mixed team with a new course record.

Personal

Helena Erbenová has been married to the Czech cyclist Vladislav Karásek since July 2017 and has started as Helena Karásková since then.
Her sister Kateřina is married to the Czech cross-country skier Lukáš Bauer .
