Erhard Köster

Erhard Köster (born June 11, 1926 in Herischdorf , district of Hirschberg in the Riesengebirge , † June 21, 2007 in Berlin ) was a German actor and voice actor .

Career

Köster began in 1945 as a stage worker at the Glauchau City Theater and took private acting lessons on the side. From 1946 he was a drama student at the Komödienhaus in Dresden . After completing his training, he was initially engaged at numerous smaller theaters in the GDR (1949 at the Theater for Children in Dresden, 1950 at the Stadttheater Zittau , 1952 at the Staatstheater Cottbus , 1955 at the Städtische Bühnen Erfurt ), where he played many major roles. Under the direction of Walter Niklaus he was also a member of the cabaret The Five Sticklebacks .

With the Erfurt Theater, Köster made three guest appearances in the Berliner Ensemble , where he a. a. played the title role in Brechts Schweyk during World War II . In 1960 he was finally engaged with the Berliner Ensemble, where he stayed until 1992 and mostly played supporting roles; Occasionally he was also used as a leading actor.

On television he played episode roles in The Public Prosecutor Has the Word and Polizeiruf 110 .

From 1958 to 1992 he worked as a speaker on 1,197 films for the DEFA dubbing studios , and he also worked for the GDR dubbing studio. He was particularly well-known as the DEFA dubbing voice of Kjeld ( Poul Bundgaard ) in eleven Olsen Gang films and as the frequent German voice of Vladimír Menšík . For 17 years he spoke for the Berliner Rundfunk as Papa Findig in the radio play series What is going on at Findigs today? .

Erhard Köster was the father of the actresses Ev-Katrin Weiß (* 1962) and Gundula Köster (* 1966).
