Erik Condra (* 6. August 1986 in Trenton , Michigan ) is an American ice hockey player , who at the since July 2019 Colorado Eagles in the American Hockey League on the position of right winger plays.
Career
Erik Condra began his career as a hockey player with the Texarkana Bandits, for which he was active in the junior league North American Hockey League in the 2003/04 season . The following season he spent with the junior team Lincoln Stars in the United States Hockey League . He then attended the University of Notre Dame from 2005 to 2009 and played for their ice hockey team in the National Collegiate Athletic Association . With his university team, the winger won the championship of the Central Collegiate Hockey Association in 2007 and 2009 , in whose all-rookie team he was previously elected in 2006. In 2009 he was also elected to the second All-Star Team of the CCHA.
Already in the NHL Entry Draft 2006 Condra was selected by the Ottawa Senators in the seventh round as a total of 211th player. For their farm team Binghamton Senators he made his professional ice hockey debut in the 2009/10 season , scoring eleven goals in 80 games in the American Hockey League and providing 27 templates. The American also began the following season with the Binghamton Senators in the AHL, before playing for the Ottawa Senators in the National Hockey League for the first time on February 15, 2011 in the home game against the New York Islanders . He then spent the time until the end of the season as a regular player in the Ottawas NHL team. Due to the lockout in the American professional league, Erik Condra signed a contract with EV Füssen on October 16 , which was valid for 30 days.
On November 12th, he signed a fixed-term contract with Bundesliga club SC Riessersee in order to collect match practice with a higher-class club for the possible end of the lockout .
After five years in Ottawa, his expiring contract was not renewed, so he joined the Tampa Bay Lightning as a free agent in July 2015 . Similarly, Condra joined the Dallas Stars in July 2018 before signing an AHL-limited contract with the Colorado Eagles in July 2019 .
