Ernst-Marcus Thomas
Ernst-Marcus Thomas (born March 23, 1973 in Delmenhorst ) is a German television presenter , author and actor .
Career
During his school days in Wilhelmshaven he took speaking lessons and during the holidays worked as an intern at radio stations such as Radio Hamburg and OK-Radio. After graduating from high school, he did a two-year internship at the Augsburger Allgemeine and studied at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich ( theater studies , ethnology and psychology ). At Klaus Schneewind he specialized in the field of personality psychology. In 2003 Thomas completed his studies with the academic degree of a Magister Artium . During his studies "EMT" - as Thomas is also called - worked as a speaker and radio host.
After working for Bayerischer Rundfunk (news) and the pop waves hr3 and NDR 2, his first television engagement took him to Baden-Baden, at what was then SWF ( Philipps Animal Hour ). This was followed by other productions on SWR television and on ARD . For two years he moderated the travel magazine nix wie raus for Hessischer Rundfunk .
Until April 2008, Thomas moderated the ARD buffet on Erste and the knowledge magazine Plietsch on NDR . In the NDR talk show , Thomas stepped in as a moderator for Jörg Pilawa . He also had several guest roles as an actor in the ARD series Die Kommissarin and in the soap Marienhof .
In 2004 Ernst-Marcus Thomas met Rudi Carrell in Cologne. On the street, Thomas jumped out of the taxi to contact Carrell. The action was so unusual that the story ended up in the official Carrell biography Rudi Carrell: A Life for the Show .
In 2006 Ernst-Marcus Thomas started as a talk show host for the Swiss private broadcaster Star TV in Zurich. He interviewed prominent Swiss people for the EMT Talk program . From 2007 to 2009 Thomas was also the station's editor-in-chief. In May 2008 Thomas took over the moderation of the ZDF television garden from Andrea Kiewel . This had been given leave of absence due to allegations of surreptitious advertising. In May 2009, Kiewel returned to the TV garden.
Ernst-Marcus Thomas works today as a media and communication trainer as well as a lecturer in journalism training. a. at the Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW) and the ARD.ZDF medienakademie . From 2009 to 2012, he was also a moderation trainer for Swiss sports television (SSF).
In July 2012, Thomas took over the moderation of the scripted talk show Ernst-Marcus Thomas - The Talk on Sat.1 . After a 14-day test run with ten episodes, the last episode was broadcast on August 3, 2012.
In 2013, Thomas played the role of a Dutch diplomat in Götz George 's last Schimanski alongside George and Chiem van Houweninge .
In 2015 Ernst-Marcus Thomas published the career guide Traumberuf Moderator (Tectum Verlag) and The perfect appearance. How you can improve your effectiveness with simple means (Haufe-Verlag 2015).
In August 2017, Thomas took on a role in the action comedy Bad Spies (original title: The Spy Who Dumped Me ) with Mila Kunis in the lead role. The producer is Ron Howard .
