The Esprehmer Moor is a nature reserve in the Schleswig-Holstein municipality of Borgwedel in the Schleswig-Flensburg district .

The approximately 37.6  hectare nature reserve is registered under number 65 in the directory of nature reserves of the Ministry of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Areas. It was expelled in 1965 (date of regulation: July 29, 1965). The responsible lower nature conservation authority is the Schleswig-Flensburg district.

The nature reserve is located southeast of Schleswig in the Schlei Nature Park . It protects the rest of a raised bog in the middle of an agricultural landscape on the edge of the Hüttener Mountains . The bog was created from a former lake, which over time silted .

The former 400 hectare moor has been drained and peated since the 18th century . In the late 1960s, it was almost completely cultivated. What was left was a moor area in the east of the former moor. The moorland and rural hand peat cuttings preserved here are the habitat of wet heaths and peat mosses . Here come u. a. Narrow-leaved and Scheidiges cottongrass , Weißes Schnabelried , rosemary heather , round-leaved sundew and whistle grass . The moor is u. a. Habitat for blue bog , moor frogs , adder and grass snake , teal , Montagu's harrier and golden plover . In the 1980s, extensive maintenance and renaturation measures were carried out in the center of the moor area , so that today the moor is largely free of trees with bog heaths , grassy bog areas and peat cuttings with raised bog regeneration. In some places there are bodies of water. Trees can be found in the edge areas.

Paths run east and west of the nature reserve, which is managed by the Schleswig-Holstein State Hunting Association. There are information boards in several places.
