The Hechtmoor (Danish: Hegemose ) is a nature reserve in the Schleswig-Holstein municipality of Mittelangeln in the Schleswig-Flensburg district .

The 34 hectare nature reserve is entered under number 39 in the directory of nature reserves of the Ministry of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Areas. It was expelled in 1941 (date of regulation: September 2, 1941). The nature reserve is almost congruent with the FFH area of the same name . The responsible lower nature conservation authority is the Schleswig-Flensburg district.

The nature reserve is 4 km south of Satrup (Mittelangeln) . It protects an upland moor located in a depression in a young moraine landscape , which has been heavily modified by drainage and peat removal , but is now a near-natural moor again. For centuries, the moor was mainly used in rural hand peat cuttings for the extraction of fuel before it was placed under nature protection in 1941. In the nature reserve there are peat bog ditches and vibrating lawns with silting societies. There are numerous endangered plants here, including orchids such as the swamp soft orchid . The moor provides a valuable habitat for dragonflies such as the great moss damsel , autumn damsel , big pitch dragonfly , early adonis dragonfly and horseshoe damsel .

The moor drains through ditches and the mill ditch to Bondenau, a source river of the Treene . The nature reserve is looked after by the geobotany working group in Schleswig-Holstein and Hamburg.
