The Fröslev-Jardelunder Moor is a nature reserve in the Schleswig-Holstein communities of Jardelund and Osterby in the Schleswig-Flensburg district .

The approximately 222  hectare nature reserve is registered under number 102 in the directory of nature reserves of the Ministry of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Areas. It was expelled in 1984 (date of regulation: May 30, 1984). The nature reserve is almost congruent with the 224 hectare FFH and EU bird sanctuary (DE1121391) "NSG Fröslev-Jardelunder Moor". The responsible lower nature conservation authority is the Schleswig-Flensburg district.

The nature reserve is located west of Flensburg directly on the border with Denmark . It protects the western part of a raised bog that stretches on both sides of the German-Danish border. The moor has been under nature protection on the Danish side since 1985 ("Frøslev Moor").

The raised bog is chilled by numerous peat cuttings. It used to be drained over a large area for use . After the protection of both sides of the German-Danish border, the then South Jutland office and the state government of Schleswig-Holstein signed a joint renaturation program in February 1988 . In the years 1993 to 1995 the Jardelunder Moor was renatured on a large scale. Drainage ditches were closed and the moor rewetted . As part of the renaturation measures, the former border ditch between Germany and Denmark was also filled in. The peat cuttings are often full of water and are slowly silting up. The lagg areas were also rewetted later .

The moor is grazed with sheep for maintenance in order to keep the growth of woody plants and pipe grass low. Sometimes decussing measures have to be carried out. The nature reserve offers a habitat for numerous plants and animals with its peat cuttings, raised bog regeneration and transitional bog areas, reed and shallow water areas as well as the extensive grassland areas adjacent to the bog areas . In addition to peat moss , z. B. Cotton grasses such as the slim cotton grass , round-leaved and medium sundew , white Schnabelried and heather before. Curlew , common snipe and black tern are native to the nature reserve. In the area of bushes stocks also is backed Shrike to find. Furthermore, the nature reserve offers a habitat for numerous amphibians , reptiles and dragonflies , including the great moss damsel . Also red deer are native here.

The moor drains through ditches to the northwest to Scheidebek and south to Wallsbek. The nature reserve, which is managed by the Schleswig-Holstein State Hunting Association, belongs to the Schleswig-Holstein Nature Conservation Foundation . A part of the moor can be experienced via a nature adventure trail around 2.5 kilometers long .
