Haithabu-Dannewerk is a nature reserve in the Schleswig-Holstein communities of Busdorf , Dannewerk and Ellingstedt in the Schleswig-Flensburg district .
The almost 41 hectare nature reserve is registered with number 39 in the directory of nature reserves of the Ministry for Energy Transition, Agriculture, Environment, Nature and Digitization . It was expelled in 1950 (date of regulation: July 5, 1950). The responsible lower nature conservation authority is the Schleswig-Flensburg district. The nature reserve is almost completely the same conservation area surrounded.
The nature reserve, which consists of several sub-areas, is located south and south-west of Schleswig . The partial areas east of the A 7 are partly within the Schlei Nature Park . The reserve covers about ten kilometers in length along the Danevirke (eastern part of the curved walls, the main wall and Margaret Wall), the ramparts around the former Viking settlement Haithabu on Haddebyer Noor and part of the north of it lying, forested stronghold and west of the ox path lying part of the dig . Further, it closes the two barrows existing archaeological monuments "Tweebargen" north of Kograbens with a.
Large parts of the nature reserve are characterized by sand-lean grassland and grass grass . Sometimes individual trees or groups of trees falter. Dwarf shrub heather can be found in small areas . The Magarethenwall east of the A 7 as well as the ramparts around Haithabu and the stronghold are forested.
In the nature reserve settle in the area of the rough grass and a. Heidenelke , Spiny rest harrow , Restharrow , Mountain sand bells , hawkweed , harebell , Hasenklee , birdsfoot trefoil , field clover , vetch , quaking grass, fluff oats and sheep's fescue . Bristle grass lawns can be found in places alternating with poor grassland. Here next to Borstgras u. a. Arnica , low salsify , common heather , three-toothed and wiry Schmiele . The small-scale dwarf shrub heather is characterized by common heather with English gorse , dyer's gorse and broom broom .
On the eastern part of Margarethenwall and the ramparts around Haithabu, middle oak forests grow from Kratt and Niederwäldern . Pedunculate oak , hazel , hornbeam and elm in particular grow here.
Lean and bristle grass lawns provide a habitat for a wide variety of insects , including wild bees , bumblebees , stinging voices , hoverflies and butterflies .
The lawns and heather are mowed for maintenance and grazed with sheep and goats.
Many hiking trails run along the ramparts . Information boards are set up in several places.
