Evening Standard British Film Award : Most Promising Young Talent

Winner of the Evening Standard British Film Awards in the category Most Promising youth development ( Most Promising Newcomer ). From 1974 to 1981 the category was reserved for the best female and male young actors ( Most Promising Newcomer - Actor / Actress ). In 1982, a one-time prize was awarded for the best young director. The winners include such well-known filmmakers as Jude Law , Neil Jordan , Gary Oldman , Jonathan Pryce , Guy Ritchie , Kristin Scott Thomas and Emily Watson . In 2016 the category was renamed Rising Star .
