The Jade College is a public college in the northwestern Lower Saxony with study sites in Wilhelmshaven , Oldenburg and Elsfleth . history

The Jade University was founded on September 1st, 2009. It emerged from the former University of Applied Sciences Oldenburg / Ostfriesland / Wilhelmshaven .

The largest nautical training facility in Germany is now located here. Engineers have been trained in Oldenburg since 1877. The original academy for business economists was founded in Wilhelmshaven in 1947.

The founding president of Jade University was Elmar Schreiber, who previously worked at the University of Bremen . The term of office of the founding president ended on August 31, 2015. On September 1, 2015, Manfred Weisensee succeeded him in the position.
