history

The village of F (f) atimech with an inn owned by the Premonstratensian women in Zwierzyniec (as well as Kozancin / Krzęcin) and the Chwacymech forest , then owned by the newly founded city of Krakow on both banks of the Vistula, were first documented in 1254 and 1257 mentioned. The name denotes a place where bellows (Polish miechy) were seized (Polish chwytać , outdated chwacić , originally * Chwaci-miechy), in contrast to other typical service settlement names for blacksmiths such as Kowale , the name has a joking statement.

Politically, the village originally belonged to Lesser Poland , but the area between the rivers Skawa in the west and Skawinka in the east (with the exception of the Radwanite Corridor ) was separated from the Duchy of Krakow in 1274 and connected to the Duchy of Opole . In this way, an exclave of the Duchy of Opole was created around Krzęcin. The Duchy of Opole was divided in 1281 after the death of Wladislaus I von Opole . From 1290 the village belonged to the Duchy of Teschen and from 1315 to the Duchy of Auschwitz , from 1327 under feudal rule of the Kingdom of Bohemia . Since 1445 it belonged to the Duchy of Zator , which was sold to Poland in 1494. From 1564 in the district of Silesia .

During the first partition of Poland , Facimiech came to the new Kingdom of Galicia and Lodomeria of the Habsburg Empire in 1772 (from 1804). Before 1795 Polanka was bought by the Krakow citizen Martin Aloys Ritter Haller von Hallenburg from the Haller family. From 1782 it belonged to the Myslenice district (1819 with the seat in Wadowice ). After the abolition of patrimonial it made after 1850, a municipality in the district Skawina, from 1867 in the judicial district Skawina the district Wadowice , from 1878 in the judicial district Kalwarya in district Myślenice . From 1899 back in the judicial district of Skawina in the new district of Podgórze .

In 1918, after the end of the First World War and the collapse of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy, Facimiech came to Poland. This was only interrupted by the occupation of Poland by the Wehrmacht in World War II . It then belonged to the Krakow district of the General Government .

From 1945 to 1998 Facimiech was part of the Kraków Voivodeship.
