Fallout: New Vegas is a 2010 computer role-playing game from the 1997 Fallout series . The game developed by Obsidian Entertainment is an independent offshoot of the series. While it is based, like Fallout 3 on the Gamebryo - Engine is not to be regarded as a direct successor of content.

On February 10, 2012 the Ultimate Edition of Fallout: New Vegas was released . It contains the main game with the final official patch and all six download extensions that have been released. There Caesar's Legion and the NCR face each other in a stalemate . The NCR advocates the values ​​of a democratic and centralized social order such as existed before the nuclear war and aims to restore order and justice in the Mojave Wasteland. The game mechanics differ only slightly from the unofficial predecessor Fallout 3 . At the beginning of the game, the doctor Dr. Mitchell asked a few questions as part of the treatment. In addition, aiming via the rear sight and front sight can be switched on or off in the game options . Power armor is no longer indestructible, and there are now different armor and clothing that each belong to a certain faction and have a corresponding effect on the behavior of NPCs when worn. Fallout: New Vegas was first announced by Bethesda Softworks on April 20, 2009 at a press conference in London. Obsidian Entertainment developed the game as an independent offshoot of the series. Extensions

Several download extensions , so-called DLCs ( Download Content or Downloadable Content ), have been announced and published for the main game. The game received mostly positive reviews. According to critify.de, the average rating in Germany is 86 out of 100 for the PC version and the Xbox 360 and 87 out of 100 for the PS3. Although the graphics engine and the game mechanics were taken over from Fallout 3 , the magazine Looki.de , for example, was convinced of the appealing, extensive game world and the small but mostly useful improvements and modifications compared to the third part.
