Winzendorf Festival

The Winzendorf Festival is a venue next to the disused limestone quarry in the Lower Austrian municipality of Winzendorf-Muthmannsdorf near Wiener Neustadt . With its 800 seats, the Winzendorf Festival is one of the largest musical venues in Lower Austria.

The stage is embedded at the foot of the quarry and integrates the impressive atmosphere of the natural backdrop into the stage design. Since 2012, the stage has had a roof as a special feature, which is intended to protect visitors from bad weather conditions. Another special feature of the venue is the exclusive cinema seating , which represents a unique level of comfort on an open-air stage.

Karl May Festival

The Karl May Festival Winzendorf are performances in memory of the writer Karl May , which have been performed since 1994. In 2011 Winnetou I was staged, the way Klekih-petra embodied by Günter Tolar . In 2012 you played Winnetou II with Alexander di Capri as Winnetou . The festival from August 3rd to 19th 2012 was attended by over 12,000 spectators. The Oil Prince was staged in 2013 . Sascha Hödl was allowed to play the character of Winnetou, who was able to fulfill a childhood dream. He has been a permanent member of the ensemble since 2002 and has performed in various supporting roles since 2009. From August 1st to 17th, 2014 the play The Treasure in Silbersee was performed. in 2016 the play Winnetou was on the program.

Musical summer Winzendorf

The musical summer Winzendorf was launched in 2016 by producers Jerome Berg and Benedikt Karasek. The artistic director is Marika Lichter . In 2017 Zorro - The Musical will be performed, music by Gipsy Kings & John Cameron , book by Stephen Clark.
