Frank LyDale Minnifield (* 1. January 1960 in Lexington , Kentucky ) is a retired American American football poker players on the position of the cornerbacks . He played in the National Football League (NFL) with the Cleveland Browns .

Player career

college

Frank Minnifield attended high school in his hometown and played on the high school football team as tailback and safety . After graduating from school, he studied at the University of Louisville from 1979 to 1982 . With the Louisville Cardinals , he played college football as safety and kick-off and punt- returner. During his season in college, he caught seven interceptions . In his senior year of college, Minnifield served as the Cardinals' captain. Because of his athletic achievements, he has received four awards from his college.

professional

Minnifield joined the Chicago Blitz after graduating , who played in the United States Football League (USFL). Frank Minnifield joined the Arizona Wranglers the following year . After the season, the Wranglers were merged with the Arizona Outlaws and Minnifield achieved clearance from his contract. He joined the Cleveland Browns trained by Marty Schottenheimer . Minnifield was able to move into the AFC Championship Game three times with the Browns . In 1986 the Browns were defeated by the Denver Broncos at 20:23, the following year the Browns were defeated by the Broncos at 33:38. In 1989, the Browns finally ran for the third time against the Denver Broncos. Also in this game Minnifield failed with his team on the team from Colorado . The match was lost with 21:37. Frank Minnifield ended his career after the 1992 season. He then founded a construction company in his hometown and is currently active in the automotive industry.

Honors

Frank Minnifield played in the Pro Bowl four times and was voted All-Pro four times . Upchurch is a member of the NFL 1980s All-Decade Team and the Kentucky Athletics Hall of Fame and the University of Louisville Athletic Hall of Fame.
