Franz Pauer

Franz Pauer (born November 15, 1870 in Vienna ; † September 27, 1936 there ) was an Austrian administrative officer.

Life

Franz Pauer studied law at the University of Vienna from 1889 to 1894 . On October 19, 1889, a week before the oyster battle , he became a member of the Catholic student union KaV Norica Vienna ; later he became a member of the KÖHV Franco-Bavaria Vienna , both in the ÖCV . In 1895 he was promoted to Dr. iur. PhD . He initially worked in the state financial service. In 1908 he moved to the imperial and royal ministries for public works, where a year later he became head of the department for housing care for the German areas in the Austrian half of the empire. In 1918 he was appointed Ministerialrat and head of the new department for social welfare , later he also became head of the section for housing welfare .

From June 21, 1921 to May 31, 1922, he was Federal Minister for Social Administration in the government of Johann Schober .

In 1923 Pauer retired. He has received several awards and was, among other things, a member of the board of trustees of the Fund for the Construction of Workshop Buildings and People's Apartments in Vienna and curator of the Wiener Kriegerheimstättenfonds.
